Here’s how you can help:

  1. Call Blue Cross.

    Call the number on the back of your insurance card, and urge Blue Cross to come to the table and work this out with Mission. We need rates that won’t threaten our future or the health of the people of western North Carolina.

  2. Email Blue Cross.

    Send an email to Mark Werner, Vice President of Network Management at BCBSNC, and ask him to come to the table without conditions and commit to talking with Mission Health to secure a new deal. Let him know that patients should come before profits and you demand your right to continue to have in-network access to high-quality care.

  3. Talk to your HR manager.

    If you get your insurance through your employer, contact your HR department. Ask that they reach out to Blue Cross and urge them to commit to working with Mission to resolve this.

    Or, ask your employer to explore other health insurance options that have Mission providers in network. We are in network with most other major health plans. If you have options, consider choosing a health plan that guarantees your in-network access to our providers.

  4. Contact The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

    If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, call The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to let them know the importance of keeping your in-network access to Mission Health providers. You can contact CMS directly at (800) 633-4227 to talk about your options file a complaint here.

  5. Contact the North Carolina Department of Insurance.

    Email Commissioner Mike Causey using the form below or call him at (855) 408-1212 to let him know BCBSNC cannot bully Mission Health. Urge him to bring BCBSNC to the negotiating table.
